Privacy Policy

This site (garmin.silverostudios.com) is run by Silvero Studios, an independent developer based in Cork, Ireland. We keep this simple: we only ask for what we need, we never sell your data, and you can opt out any time. This page explains exactly what happens to the information you share.
What we collect
We only collect information you choose to type into a form:
- Email address — when you sign up for updates or the Garmin Insider list, or submit an idea on the Idea Board.
- First name — optional, on the home page signup, so emails can greet you.
- Your idea and notes — only if you submit them on the Idea Board.
We do not use advertising trackers or cookies for profiling. We don't collect your location, and we don't fingerprint your device.
Visitor counts
To know roughly how many people visit this site, we use Cloudflare Web Analytics. It is privacy-first by design: it sets no cookies, stores nothing in your browser, and does not build a profile of you or follow you to other websites. It records only page-level basics — which page was loaded, the referring site, country, browser and device type, and load speed — with no persistent identifier that could tie those visits back to you. Because it uses no cookies and no client-side storage, there is no cookie banner on this site. Cloudflare's handling of that data is covered by its privacy policy. If you'd rather not be counted at all, any tracker blocker or your browser's Do Not Track setting will stop the script from loading.
Our watch faces & apps
Our Garmin Connect IQ watch faces and apps (such as StockWatch) run on your Garmin device. Any settings you choose are stored on your device and in your Garmin account through Garmin Connect — they are not sent to us. Watch faces that display live information, like stock quotes, fetch only that public market data; they do not transmit your identity, your location or your Garmin account details to Silvero Studios. Data handled inside Connect IQ is also subject to Garmin's own privacy policy.
Most of our apps never go online at all. Games such as Poker, Blackjack, Slots, Ball Sort, Solitaire and Tetrix run entirely on the watch: nothing you do in them leaves the device. Two apps do make a network request — Chess and PACMAN — and both are described in full below.
Chess
Chess declares the Connect IQ Communications permission. It uses it for exactly one feature, and only while you are using that feature.
When you play against the computer, the app sends the current position of the pieces on the chessboard (as a standard FEN string) and the difficulty level you picked to a small server we run, so it can reply with the computer's next move. That is the entire request. It contains no name, no email, no Garmin account details, no device identifier, no location, and no health, fitness or activity data of any kind.
- Only in “vs AI”. The puzzles, local 1v1, openings library and statistics are completely offline. If you never open “vs AI”, Chess never makes a network request.
- Where it goes. The request travels over HTTPS, through your phone's Garmin Connect app, to a Cloudflare Worker we operate. That Worker asks a public chess engine service, chess-api.com, for the best move and passes the answer back to your watch as four characters (for example
e7e5). - What we keep. Nothing that identifies you. The Worker keeps a short-lived cache of board positions and their replies so that a position it has already solved comes back faster. A chess position is not personal data and is not linked to a person, a watch or an account. We do not write request logs tying positions to individuals, we build no profile, and we have no way to reconstruct who played a given game.
- No account, ever. Chess has no login, no signup and no analytics. It does not read your activities, heart rate, steps, sleep, GPS or notifications.
- If it can't connect. When your watch has no phone nearby, or the request fails or takes too long, Chess simply plays you with the chess engine built into the app. The game continues offline and nothing is sent.
- Your settings and statistics — accent colour, puzzle progress, win streak and game history — are stored on your watch (and synced through your own Garmin account, where applicable). They are never sent to us.
If you would rather Chess never went online, play the puzzles, 1v1 and openings modes, or revoke the app's permission in Garmin Connect — everything except “vs AI” keeps working.
PACMAN
PACMAN declares the Connect IQ Communications permission. It uses it for exactly one feature: the optional global leaderboard. The game itself is fully playable offline and never needs a connection.
When a game ends, the watch sends your best score — not the game you just played — together with the level, dots eaten and duration of that record run (so the server can check the score is actually possible), the name you chose, a timestamp, and a per-app device identifier provided by Connect IQ. That is the entire request. It contains no email, no Garmin account details, no location, and no health, fitness or activity data of any kind.
- The identifier is not your name. It is Connect IQ’s
uniqueIdentifier: a random string that is specific to this app on this watch. It is the same value across a reinstall, which is what lets your record follow you, and it cannot be used to identify you anywhere else. We never link it to an email, an account or any other app. - The name is yours to choose. You type it in the Connect IQ app on your phone, under PACMAN’s settings. Leave it blank and you appear as
PLAYER. Use whatever you like — there is no reason to use your real name, and we’d suggest you don’t. - Where it goes. The request travels over HTTPS, through your phone’s Garmin Connect app, to a Cloudflare Worker we operate, which checks the score is legitimate and stores it in a Supabase database hosted in Ireland (EU).
- What we keep. One row per player: the identifier, your chosen name, your best score and the details of that run. Playing again never adds a row — it overwrites the same one. We keep no request logs tying scores to individuals and build no profile.
- It is public. The name and score you submit are shown on our public leaderboard. The identifier is never shown or shared.
- Turning it off. In the Connect IQ app on your phone, under PACMAN’s settings, switch off Post my best score. The watch then makes no network request at all, ever. You can also revoke the app’s permission in Garmin Connect.
- Removing your score. Email us and we’ll delete it. Tell us the name you play under so we can find it.
- No account, ever. PACMAN has no login, no signup and no analytics. It does not read your activities, heart rate, steps, sleep, GPS or notifications.
- If it can’t connect. Nothing happens and nothing is queued. Because the watch always sends your best score rather than a one-off result, the next game you finish with your phone nearby brings it up to date by itself.
Why we collect it
- To send you new app drops, watch faces and Garmin lessons you asked for.
- To reply to an idea you submitted and let you know if it gets built.
- To show your score on the PACMAN leaderboard, if you leave that switched on.
The legal basis is your consent, given when you submit the form.
Who processes it
Form submissions are sent over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection to a Cloudflare Worker, which passes your email to Systeme.io, our email provider, where the list is stored. Anonymous visitor counts are processed by Cloudflare as described above. Leaderboard scores are processed by Cloudflare and stored by Supabase (EU region, Ireland). These providers process the data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes. We never sell, rent or trade your information.
When you toggle light/dark mode, your choice is saved in your browser's local storage (a key called ss_theme). It stays on your device, is never sent to us, and isn't a tracking cookie.
How long we keep it
Leaderboard scores are kept while the leaderboard exists, or until you ask us to remove yours. We keep your email on the list until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. Idea submissions are kept while the feature is under consideration.
Your choices & rights
- Unsubscribe any time using the link at the bottom of any email we send.
- Access or delete your data — just email us and we'll handle it.
- Under GDPR you can request a copy of your data, correct it, or have it erased.
